Welcome to MAA's Walk!

Saturday, September 15, 2007 11am

MAA's Walk is a 5k walk for Organ Donor awareness and education. This walk was founded by the Ahearn family of Bergenfield, NJ, in conjunction with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, in memory of our Mom, Mary Anne Ahearn. Our event consists of a kids walk and a 5k walk, plus food, music, face painting and more! Verona Park is a beautiful dog-friendly park setting with playgrounds, walking trails and paddle boats, making it a perfect spot for a full day of family fun! MAA’s Walk is also proud to partner with the NJ Sharing Network, the Organ Procurement Center of NJ, as they provide us with the educational information needed so people can make an informed decision regarding Organ donation. Proceeds from MAA’s Walk have gone towards buying much needed equipment for the transplant program at NBIMC, as well as funding the Community Medicine Chest program – transplant patients require thousands of dollars of medicine per month for life and this program is there to help them when there are lapses or problems with insurance.

So, step up for MAA’s Walk and join us on September 15th!!
